This weapon takes much strength to wield in combat. The wrists must be strong enough to control the weapon's swing, and the waist steady enough to generate power into the weapon. It takes much athleticism to become a warrior worthy of wielding the Chinese Big Saber. It is a mark of the work ethic of a true blooded Chinese person of that era. This is a real weapon used for war, from the times when spears are the common weapon, till firearms come into play. Many thin swords commonly seen in artistic movies are not actually used on the battlefield, for which the Big Saber is much more useful.
Today, the practice of the Chinese Big Saber continues among Kung Fu enthusiasts. The art of the war saber is a treasure of Chinese military history through which many Chinese remember the bravery of the Chinese fighters who stood against the Japanese. Our school teaches the art of the Chinese Big Saber, to learn more about our courses please contact Coach Leroy Kwok 9757 5412 (Call, SMS, Whatsapp, Wechat).
